Elegant fern for deep shade requires regular moisture, normally found in the spray of waterfalls and dripping wet cliffs in the forest. Up to 2 1/2 ft. tall. Formerly Adiantum pedatum. Native to greater Bay Area.

Adiantum jordanii  Maidenhair Fern   
Elegant fern which normally tolerates going dormant in dry summer conditions. Lovely delicate fronds like the leaves of a ginko. Partial to full shade. Native to San Francisco, Angel Island, the East Bay hills, and other local regions.
