Arctostaphylos pumila
An endangered endemic from the sand dunes of Monterey Bay, this gorgeous manzanita grows around 30" tall with greyish-green foliage the texture of fine velvet; new growth is crimson at the edges. Its tight habit and attractive coloration make this an outstanding choice for the garden, especially in the sandy soils it prefers.
