Aster chilensis
Low-growing form of our native aster with lavender petals and golden center. A guaranteed magnet for butterflies & beneficial insects. Some varieties can be invasive in the garden but we believe this one is reasonable.

This is a vigorous species to use as a groundcover. The flower stalks will get much taller but can be cut back in winter.
