Calandrinia


Pretty bright magenta-red wildflower. These need hot sun, usually in a flat meadow in harsh soils. Seeds from this plant composed the primary ingredient of Pinole, the staple foodstuff of Miwok and other California Indians.



The color should be much more magenta, not blue.
