Sidalcea calycosa rhizomata
An uncommon plant from freshwater marshes at Point Reyes (and into Sonoma and Mendocino counties), this easy and beautiful groundcover for wet areas is listed as an endangered species by the CNPS. It spreads quickly when planted in the ground, and (with flowing fresh water) gives a bounty of pink flowers throughout the summer. In a pot, it makes attractive trailing stems with reddish leaves but no flowers.
